Ok, I've finally decided to switch to a raw diet, I just need some advice on what types of foods to combine. What is the appropriate ratio of muscle meat, to organ meat, to bones, to vegetables, to supplements, to anything else I need to add in? And what kinds of meat & vegetables? Thanks a lot.
Get at least a couple of books on the subject and read the old threads on this board. I don't recommend jumping into raw feeding without learning as much as you can first.
Do your research!!! I feed Barf to my animals, even my 5 wk old kitten is on it. experiment, mix and match. In my house (2 GSD 80lbs, & 1 kitten) on MWF is meat, bones and veggies. 1-1.5 lbs of meat/bones with 2 big cooking spoonfuls of veggies (a mixture of celery, carrots, ginger, parsley/cilantro, and greens-kale, mustard, collard, and liver). TTHSa is offal, 1 heart or 1 kidney. sunday they fast. Only fast if the animale is over 1 yr. When you mix your veggies, make sure it consists of above and below ground veggies, and have dark leafy green. No lettuce b/c it doesn't have any nutritional value. The ginger and parsley/cilantro aids digestion. The celery is a natural anti-inflammitory. I cannot stress enough to do your research, and weigh the pros and cons. Look at both sides, and expriment. Good luck!
