Does anyone breed Dogue de bordeaux here? I was wondering if anyone knows like if there heat or cold sensitive and what would be like a maximum and minium temp?
I was raised with the French mastiff , born and raised in Bordeaux myself.I raised 4 Bordeauxs',I can tell you that they like European weathers, cold, slightly warm ,at times, but they do not like the heat. But then again not many dogs don't like the heat.I cannot tell you the maximum or minimum ,I think you can use good judgement on that.If you are planning on making this breed an outdoor dog ,I hope you re-consider. What is your question based on?
ohhh no he wont be an outside dog just i was wondering because here it snows and is hot and didnt want to bring him on a long walk in teh cold if he will get verysick and the same with the heat
Oh Ok , I think with the snow you'll be fine on a walk , in the heat use your judgement, bring water, dogs have a great way to handle different temperatures if you allow them to cool or warm themselves up.The dogs that do really bad are the ones that are given no shelter, adequate water, etc...
Where are you getting your Bordeaux from?
I got a Bordeaux (beside the ones we had in France) from Peter curly, he owned Barry and Beasley that were in Turner & Hooch.
Angelique, I know these photos were for Tyler haha, but I clicked on the link and it won't show pics. It takes me to a log in screen. I'd love to see pics of your boys as well.
Thanks Alex, a lot of power behind those dogs. The one with the black mask was PPD trained and very confident at what he did.The other one was only 2 there and he was a big teddy bear.We never did much with him as far as bite work at all, he was the social dog we would take to work to hang out ( and slobber all over)
