keith tayman Webboard User Reg: 05-10-2007 Posts: 27 Loc: Offline	hi, rex just got his first rabies vaccination 2 days ago and the vet said no swimming in the pool for 5 days. i let him out this morning and as i was getting my coffee, i saw that both he and the female were having a morning swim. i grabbed him and rinsed him off, and am now wondering what i should be worried about re the swimming after the shot? my vet is out of contact at this moment so i thought maybe someone here might know? any thoughts? cheers and thanks

I think as long as you keep an eye on the injection site (for inflammation, infection), it will be fine. It was probably pretty clean water anyway, right?

That would make sense to me, but I don't think so ... because in the olden days (you know -- when baby boomers were young.... ) the instructions included baths.

keith tayman Webboard User Reg: 05-10-2007 Posts: 27 Loc: Offline	thanks all for that. i got a hold of the vet, he said it is SOP related to the injection site, but as we have clean water in pool, it shouldnt be a problem and just watch out for normal vaccine reactions. thanks again for the fast input!
