Howard, I'm opposed to it. I'm not sure in what context you mean "article" search, but either way, I'm opposed to it. My reason is tactical and safety. I'd be glad to explain in PM if you are interested in my opinion.

So as not to give up to much information, I mean that the dog is taught to find and alert on discarded evidence and/or lost items specifically as well as alert on articles during tracks.
Once I get a response I have another question regarding SP EDDs. I know where you are coming from so if you want to generalize thats fine. A PM would be better.

We do train our EDD's, both DP or SP, to do post blast. That would also include a weapon, spent cartridges etc. In light of today's current situations however, I'm even rethinking that. We do not use a dog on a "suspect" package. Beyond saying that, I'd prefer to talk in PM.
