Since I have my dogs on a raw food diet, what do you guys recommend for treats? The treats at the pet store don't seem to go with the raw food diet thing.
I usually make my own. I cook the meats since I handle them with my own hands. Boil up some chicken liver then bake it with garlic powder, slice it, freeze it. Goat cheese packed in refillable tubes that you can get from the camping store. Cocktail shrimp. Baked, sliced chicken breast. Small cubes of cheddar, swiss, or danish ementhaler. For my Lab with food allergies, I buy venison; if ground I roll it into little balls and boil them until they float, if stew meat I bake it with garlic powder and slice it into little pieces.
frozen smelts - they are individually frozen and the dogs love them. My friend made a batch of smoked bear sausage and forgot to put salt in it and donated it to my dogs - VERY popular with my bunch.
