I have a 12 month old FM Mal (which I got at 8 months) who will urinate within minutes of being put in a crate in the house 100% of the time. Even if she just peed outside before being placed in the crate. However, she does not do this when placed in the cage in the truck. Any suggestions on how to stop this behaviour?

Are the crates different?
My Mal arrived in a medium crate and I do not know if she associated it with the plane ride or what, but she did not like it (she would be restless, but never had an accident).
I put her in a wire crate and she was fine.
Maybe getting the same type crates might help. Just a thought.

The vehicle has a two dog aluminum insert in the back.
She will pee in ANY other crate/cage she is put in. Usually within a minute of when she is put it. It is like she is doing it intentionally. Kind like she is "pissed off" (pardon the pun) when she is placed in a crate in the house but knows she is going to training when in the truck so she is ok with that.
Hmm.. Good point Carol. They are larger than would usually be used for her. All are sized for my Rottie and she is very small. Like 40 lbs or so. SO yes there is more room than she needs. The truck cage is the same size so I am not sure if that's it, But I am going to try her in a smaller crate and see what happens.

Just want to say....yes I know 2 months is really young.....my eyes deceived me and I am glad I noticed it before I launched into the embarrassing (for me) "why do you have a two month old pup to begin with post....."
Geesh, what a week it has been......

I can walk out of the room count to 10 and walk back in and she will be peeing! Never fails. Even if I take her out, have her pee and then put her in the crate. She will pee again as soon as I walk out.
She's such a little brat!
And I'm spending a fortune on paper towels!
