Looks like a pretty good site, although I take almost everything w/a grain of salt. I bet The Honest Kitchen should be a 6 star food, but it's not listed that I could find.

This site has been linked about a million times...I first learned about it here.
It's great you're taking the time to research what you feed your dog. A lot of pet owners earlier this year learned the hard way they shouldn't take it for granted.

This is the site i was told to look at. they have put a lot of work into making it, If people take no notice of such a comprehensive site such as this then how can anyone judge anything printed on the web regarding Dogs or any other subject, why do i say this, It is Free, they ask no payement from people to read it so they gain nothing from it if you do or you do not look at it,
With Connies help i found Orijen Food and i am most grateful to her and the site you mention, to me it is the king of the kibble dog food
I could be wrong but i do not think that Honest Kitchen Dog Food is a Dry kibble food, if it is not then it would not be included in this site for Dry Kibble

can you tell me why EVO is not recommended for large breed puppies.I'm sure the high protein content is the reason, but don't quite understand. P.S. I just switched to this brand recently, because of all the great reviews.I guess i did not do enough research. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Bella when I was researching foods before I got Jerri one of the vets on staff printed me off something from VIN, veterinary information network. It was suposed to be some of the latest research findings and it suggested no more than 22% protein for a large or giant breed puppy. If you've done much looking at foods I'm sure you've found like I did that is almost impossible to find. honestly while I like the ingredients of foods like Evo, and I did feed that to my Dobe after she was diagnosed with cancer, I find it hard not to be concerned about those high protein levels. Guess I still haven't completly overcome the brain washing yet.

Correct, it's not a kibble or canned dog food but the site does say to recommend foods for them to analyze as they know there are probably many they haven't analyzed yet. Maybe suggest THK or other "commercial" foods that are similar to it be analyzed and added to the site.
I just went and looked at some of the foods on the link and while it says Evo is not recommended for puppies because of the protein levels(42%)the Orijen lg breed puppy is also 42%. Wonder what's up with that.
