Hmmm.....
I've titled eight dogs to SchH II ( never gotten a SchH III ) and a few FH's.
I did AKC Obedience for many years and I managed to get four UDT's, 22 additional UD's, and five TDX's.
I was a busy, busy fellow.....
Where or where did my free time go?

Comgrats to Angelique, Bob and Will, for there performances with there Dogs in SchH work, and again to Katie with her up and coming Dog.
Randy, says why do i ask, As i said Interest' Having never been to the USA it is a job trying to visulise the way you people operate with your Dogs, for instance, Training them with a Club. and more so Clubs which are not only for the general type dog, but Clubs for Dogs with one thing in mind, that meaning that the end result will be competitions in SchH.
I would guess some may have to travel a long way to get to such a Club, which would make it difficult, so it is me trying to understand how things work over there in the USA,I like to understand what goes on in another country and as this Forum is an American one, it says a lot for your love of the G.S Breed if you have a problem getting to a serious minded G.S Club
Over here in Belgium it is but an hours drive for me to go to the club, or Clubs i can go Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday, all evening training, and Sunday Mornings that is three Clubs within an hours drive,
My Trainer as i said elewhere is the Belgian team Captain, but he has been over in Canada for the last 10 days Judging over there,He will be back today, and I think myself very lucky indeed to have such help and facilities
All of these Clubs are only for the German Shepherd Dogs, no other Breed

Hi Steve,
I'll give you a little insight into my club. It is an all-breed Schutzhund club -- so we have GSD's of course in addition to Malinois' and Rottweilers.
We train obedience one night a week and tracking on Sunday mornings. Saturday is the comprehensive training day which we train tracking, obedience and protection -- so that day can be 4-6 hours long of group training. It is a long day but in addition to training your own dog you watch others train -- and that can be very valuable in learning handling skills.
Fortunately I live about 5 minutes from our training field. But there are others in our club that travel a couple of hours or more to train with us. This time of year as the Winter approaches in New England there is less daylight time -- it's getting cold too -- so we move our weeknight training inside. Saturdays we will continue to train outside through the end of the year -- then we will go inside too for weekend training Jan - March.
Hope this helps give you an idea of the training dynamics at least with my club. I really, really like my club -- it is a group of people serious about their dogs and Schutzhund training but we have a great time training.
Happy training to you in Belgium!

Also to add a bit about our club. http://www.rwdc.org
We train with total motivational training (marker training) none of our dogs have ever received a correction for making a mistake, INCLUDING bite work. There are people that are constantly telling us "this can't be done". "You must correct for mistakes the dog makes". I/we disagree completely. I'm an old yank and crank trainer who still has the Wm Koehler books that I bought new. Yes, that does work but why would a dog refuse to do something it KNOWS it will be rewarded for with a tug/food/bite, as opposed to a dog obeying because of fear of correction? I'm completely change over to operant conditioning training. If the dog has a drive that you can tap into, you can train motivational. The club is about 3-4 yrs old and we have Schutzhund titles, AKC titles, Iron Dog titles, etc.
I might add that my SchI dog also has his AKC CDX and we'll be going for his UD next year and hopefully his III also.

Looks like a good Club Bob,
its coming Winter over here now and its dark at 5.30 in the evenings, I leave to go to the Training Club at about 6.15 in the evenings but do not get home until around 11.15, but its worth it, a bit cold but they have good lighting at the club with flood lights,
The Belgain Schh Championships was today,
18 Schh 111 dogs took part a great day and some fantastic dogs and handlers, i learned a lot
Two were disqualified on the Protection work which was a shame. going well until they decided not to let go of the Sleeave on the Pakweker, three times the handlers gave the command and three times the Dogs failed to let go,then it was over for them
