I know we have discussed the orbee ball destruction refund before but the link that I found for downloading the return form no longer is accessable or at least I can't access it. Anyone have the new information for returning the ball and getting a new one? Levi ripped the ball in half today I'm going to have to order a new one in the meantime...still, I would like the refunded ball as a backup.

Okay, I'm still going to order an orbee but I was surfing the catalog and saw the Ultra balls and the Gofrr balls. They look pretty neat, anyone used either of those? Do they stand up pretty well? So far, the orbee has been the best and longest lasting ball I have ever found but those look like something that would be fun.

I'll just add that I'm getting really irked with the orbee.
Bought a new one and the string came apart the first time we played with it. I have a growing collection of stringless orbee balls.
Instead of going to the trouble of setting up return forms why can't they just fix the frickin' problem??

Sarah, just take the string, run it thru and tie your own Knot. There's a page Ed has showing the procedure. Maybe someone will post the link. I have two orbees and had to do both the same way. It was not a big deal.

Having never owned an Orbee, I can't say how things compare, but, Quinn's favorite is the Kong ball. I have about five of them and they come in different sizes. He always has one in his mouth and even sleeps with them propping his lip up.
I had a hole drilled (using a vise and drill press to make it even) and strung a rope through one of them for drive work.
It is not a "soft" ball by any means, it is made of the same material as the red Kongs, but then I don't have a puppy that will loose drive from a bonk on the head either. But it does have a great "give" for his bite and is strong.
They also bounce well and fit into my launchers (hyper Dog, and the arm thingy with the claw at the end) for distance. I often pick the all up and wash them with anti-bacterial soap and then rinse really well. I am a germ-a-phobe!
He is not a real chewer, but he will chew toys that he knows he can destroy and does not mess with these much. None have been destroyed and all look like new, even after two years.

Lol, Sarah the rope thing happens every time.
I take the Orbee out of the box, let one of my dogs clamp onto it and it usually takes about 15 to 30 seconds of playing tug for the rope to detach from the ball. Then you just tie it in with knots (as shown on the Leerburg page) and it'll last forever
Well ok, not quite forever; I'm also curious about the orbee replacement issue, seeing as one of mine is about to rip in half.
It's still holding, but the rope has cut almost halfway through the ball and it's only a matter of time before the ball rips open
Does Leerburg replace broken orbees too (that's where I got mine)?

I wrote Planet Dog and here's the response I received:
"I'm sorry to hear that the knot on your rope came undone so quickly. This knot is hand tied and sometimes doesn't get pulled completely tight, although it usually doesn't come apart right away.
We currently use a fisherman's knot on the inside of the ball. We find it to be the most reliable way right now to keep the rope together. It is difficult to explain, but I've found a web link with an animated .gif that does a good job of showing how it's done:
http://www.42brghtn.mistral.co.uk/knots/42ktfish.html
You can also go with the standard granny knot, or a square knot. You first must thread the untied rope through the 2 holes of the ball, tie the knot, and then pull it back through the large hole so it ends up inside the ball. You then tie a quick knot with the remaining loop that is on the outside of the ball.
When we have someone who sends back a ball with an untied rope, we will either re-tie it for them or send a new ball that we have personally tied the rope to, whichever the customer prefers. We have a rest easy guarantee on all of our products! Below is the link to print off our return form. Send this back with your merchandise and we will redo the knot, send you a replacement or issue you a credit. Please make sure to specify what you would like us to do."

The link is currently down, as Robbin noted, but that's probably only temporary.

The manufacturer will replace all damaged balls. I just called their customer service and they gave me an address to return the ball. I just have to pay for shipping to get it there. They pay for return shipping plus whatever product you choose to have replaced.
Happiness!
Yes the link is back up!

For what its worth, I bought one Orbee Ball. The inner knot failed after oh about 15 mintues. Retied, failed, dog is really wound, retie, fail again. Resort to throwing ball, end of session. Get home, spend time retieing and bouncing and pulling, fail, fail, fail. Give up and tie knots on the outside of ball. All good..............For about a week and a half. Ball starts cutting into two pieces! Never mind. I'm sticking to small jute tubes.
