Okay, rundown....I broke my elbow in North Carolina. (if you want the whole funny story, PM me).......so I am now a one armed dog trainer and handler, for at least the next two to four weeks (it has been two and a half already).
Trailing is absolutely OUT of the question (I can work with the air scent and HRD dogs), so I am working on some clicker (yes, me and a clicker ) with the Bloodhound which I should video tape.
Either I SUCK or the BH just does NOT get it. Following Karen Pryor pretty close, so I don't think I am THAT bad......
And I am teaching the Dutch how to get me bottled water out of the fridge.....
I think my pack knows I am injured and they are like Dingos......but rather than killing and eating me they are conspiring to have an election for new pack leader.
Any thoughts on some other stuff I can do?

Are you starting by teaching the dog just what the clicker means or are you just jumping right into training?
The dog must understand what that little noise means.

You can't imagine how you got me laughing this morning , although I'm so sorry to hear about your elbow
Back to Earth Dog's question above.........
Maybe the food you are using doesn't have enough value? Or the dog isn't hungry enough?
My dogs love ALL food but there are certain things that work better for initial learning, because whether it's positive or not it's still stressful for the dogs on some level. I use higher value treats (like steak ) when introducing new concepts

I would tend to agree with that, except for that this is my Bloodhound and he loves any kind of food. However, what he drools over and gets stupid for in the food rolls like Natural Balance or Red Barn. I have used steak as well and that works about the same as the food rolls.
I should add, that I use the most favorite food or toy reward with all of my dogs, it is just that the Bloodhound is kind of like a Dyson and he does not discriminate on what he takes in (except for apple).

A democratic pack, how nice! Who do you see winning the election?
