What are the best training treats for 3 month old pup? I am assuming smaller is better and ones that don't have to be chewed. Also, How many do you give during one training session. I am working on the sit now. Should i also work on the down or attention?
I also use cut up raw sirloin steak pieces as well.
I like to use small cubes of soft food since the dog does not need to take the time to crunch it up and eat it, which IMO, takes away from the training time.
With a three month old, I would do short, one thing at a time sessions and remember that since it is a pup, let her/him be a pup for a while. Obedience can be worked on later.
Concentrate on bonding, housebreaking and just getting to know your pup.

I used the Liver Biscotti for teaching the "place" command, throwing a couple in the crate when I wanted him to go in. These treats are little dry liver biscuits so a little chewing may happen, that's why I used it for the crate. There was always a bag of Liver Biscotti on top of his wire crate. http://leerburg.com/1869.htm
Another great treat with no real need for a pup to chew are the Zuke's Mini Naturals. They're tiny and don't add a lot of calories for quick training sessions. I relied on these. http://leerburg.com/1078.htm
Leerburg has started to carry other treats which I haven't tried yet, cool! My dog is salivating as I write this
