He probably wasn't hungry. My raw fed dogs will do the same behavior when they are full but they still have a hunk of meat. If you fast him for a meal before you feed RMBs he will probably eat it right away.

What do you normally feed him, kibble? If so, he's not "too well fed."
Some dogs like to dig bones, specially if they are not hungry at that moment. You could try to give the lamb shank when he's hungry, and give it to him either in his kennel or in a room where he won't be able to dig and bury.

i feed him a meal of evo red meat kibble and a can of no grainfood, and at dinner raw meal,he just ate a pound of aunt jenis lamb and went out to eat the lamb shank i gave him a few days ago,so he wasnt that hungry after eating dinner.he doesnt have a kennel,my home is his kennel. i got rid of his crate after i left him free at 9 months and he didnt destroy anything.
i am just beginning to feed raw, give me a break.i am a new dog owner,i never knew about raw before.i am learning, thats why i am here asking questions all the time.i dont think evo or orijen are bad for a kibble.if i were to feed a dog this size a prepared store bought food it would cost 200 bucks a month.right now he eats better than we do

Hey Sue. I think it was my "if you feed kibble, he's not too well fed" comment that upset you. I honestly had no idea what you fed your dog. I don't know much about kibble, but according to this website, Evo is one of the best dry foods. You said maybe he doesn't eat lamb because he's too well fed. I just gave you my opinion. No matter how healthy a dog is, he should eat a lamb shank if he's hungry. The burying part? Well, since you don't have a crate anymore, you might want to give it to him in the kitchen so he doesn't get the chance to dig and bury it.
I think you're on the right track and in the right place. Keep up reading and asking questions until you are comfortable feeding your dog a raw diet (if that's your goal). $200 a month is definitely unacceptable, so you might want to find other sources for your meat. I'm sure that if you read the first couple of pages in the All-Natural Diet for Dogs section you will learn a lot.
All the best.

thank you richard ,you are very helpful.yeah right away i thought oh god i am being attacked again for not feeding raw when you have no idea what i feed.everything i read i get more confused.evo is a good kibble, then i hear that its too high protein,i thought protein is good.i thought that it was balanced and easy to feed.everyone else seems to have an easy time with the raw diet without buying from a commercial raw brand.i know how to read, have a freezer,it is possible.i am still in transition.need to use up the 30 pounds of orijen i just bought.buti can start by doing 1 meal raw.thank again ,you will see me here with many questions

And you are correct: protein is good. High-quality protein is good, that is.
Protein from grains (corn, wheat, etc.) -- not so much. Not for dogs.
When you get near the end of the kibble, if you replicate the pictures (and text) of either one of the two Leerburg sample menus, then you will be off to a flying start very easily.
Once the new raw feeder gets the feel of what a balanced diet looks like, then branching out and providing variety is easy. (In fact, there is already nice variety in the Leerburg samples, with beef, poultry, and fish.)
You will be surprised at how easy it is once you get started.
Here's a nice little book, too:

Sure. You can feed as many at a time and switch as often as your dogs stomach will handle. It is perfectly fine to mix protein sources or switch at anytime.
