I have used the fingertip tooth brush and paste, as well as the squirt-along-the-gumline products from CET on new adoptees with plaque (along with raw feeding, of course).
I checked out the ingredients, because it's not easy to say "And spit it out! Do not swallow!"
I don't know the product you cited, so I guess I would have to get the ingredients and check 'em out. That's what I would suggest. You know it will be swallowed.
Also, since it's generally the outside surface of the dog's teeth that are at most risk (because they are not as subject to a constant wash of saliva), I'd probably prefer to teach the dog the fun of brushing. Brushing the outside surfaces don't bother dogs nearly as much as the insides would, IME.
Just wanted to second what Connie said - raw feeding IME makes for much less gunky teeth, but it should not be relied on as a substitute for checking your dog's teeth regularly and brushing. We have a GSD and an Airedale mix, both raw fed - the GSD's teeth stay nice and clean, though I do check and brush because he has a capped tooth. The Airedale mix slowly accumulates plaque and tartar no matter what I do, and needs professional cleaning every eighteen months. Go figure - they both get exactly the same RMBs as part of their diet.
