This message is to update everyone on the situation of Diva. As you know, Diva had her JPS surgery the middle of August at 14 weeks old.
Her first xray was taken last week since the surgery and the news is not what I or the doctors wanted to see. One of her hips looks much better but the left one has not improved at all.
She is scheduled for a Triple Pelvic Ostectomy on Friday, Nov. 8. The surgeon explained to me that if she hadn't had the JPS, she wouldn't be a candidate for this surgery, because her condition would be much worst. So much so, that this surgery would not be a option now. I am just sick about this, as I hate to see her have to go through this. The breeder still hasn't offered any help financially, which doesn't surprise me. If anyone knows of a website that might possibly be able to shed some light on what my options are, I would greatly appreciate the link. Also I would like to hear from anyone who has had this surgery done on their pet and how they are doing now. I will keep all you good and caring people on this board abreast of what happens in the future.
Sorry about the bad news. This is a link to a site from UC-Davis. If it doesn't answer your questions you can do a search on yahoo or google and find PLENTY of reading material on this. http://www.vmth.ucdavis.edu/vmth/clientinfo/info/tpofaq.shtml
