Today I noticed that it looks like Kodee's lower canine baby teeth are still in place, but his adult ones are coming in right behind them. Is this normal, and will the puppy teeth fall out and the adult ones move into place? Or is this a problem? I don't want to take him to have any teeth pulled if I don't need to, but I don't want his adult teeth to come in wrong. What's normal for a 5 month old pup?
Hes fine take a wash rag and twist then freeze teething pups love this If You are doing bite work stop untill teething is over. Some pups have a high pain tolerance and are not bothered but some dont and one painfull bite mite ruin a full bite later. Be looking for puppy teeth on the floor
Thanks, Doug. I'm biased, but I agree. hee hee . He's a pet, so we don't do bite work and we don't play tug with him, so I'm not too worried about his pain level. They don't seem to bother him much. But my question is just whether or not his baby teeth will fall out soon, so his adult teeth (which are quite a ways above the gumline already) will be in the right place. I thought the baby teeth would be "pushed out" so to speak, by the adult teeth that are replacing them. But he has puppy canines and two adult canines on the bottom row, which kind of surprised me.

If the baby teeth are still in at 7 and 1/2 months you might want to consult a vet. They'll fall out any time between now and 7 months, probably later than sooner if they haven't come out yet.

Doug: He's not 7.5 mo's yet, he's around 5...but if they're still there at 7.5, I was telling her, she should get it checked.
Kori: It's sooo funny when the canine's start to come in, because you have this puppy with GIANT TEETH and GIANT FEET and GIANT EARS. This is my favorite time. I just can't take any dog seriously at this age.
oh lol been really crazy lately you should read the Vom Haus Williams thread. 5 months that young man is teething i think he will be fine. Like i said give that baby something cold to knaw on.

You hit the nail on the head! He's really cute, but sometimes I just have to laugh - he looks so goofy when he "grins" (which is how I noticed the double set of canines in the first place! LOL) But I am sure before too long he will be a frightening sight to behold for strangers who come to the front door.
