Ok magic went on our nightly walk today with the girls.
Anyway he does not pull me all around like a crazy fool but he does pull. I currently Have a collar that tightens when I walk him when he pulls but is this a thing that I need a prong? I don't know. He is not crazy bad but he is big and I don't want this to get any worse.
Just to add he is very sweet but come to find out he has never been on a leash. They always let him run around the shelter in the back and run outside.
A prong will stop the pulling with most dogs, not all, but most. Why dont you teach the dog to heel motivationally then later use the prong to proof it? Or teach him "walk nice" if he doesnt have to walk next to you 100%.
I would say that he first need to be taught how to walk nicely on a leash, before the corrections start.
Get his favourite treats - hotdog/cheese/whatever - and encourage him to walk with you for the rewards. Teach him with rewards first.
And teach him ON HIS OWN. Not with other dogs whilst he's learning. Once you are sure he knows how to walk, then you can think about corrections and maybe a prong.
Don't correct him if you haven't taught him what to do first.

Ok I will work on that this morning and so on. The girls are on a sleeping schedule were they sleep from 8 to 12 so prime time to work with him by his self thank you for the advice.
Ok just a little update we worked together for 2 hours. By the time we finished he was not pulling but still not healing. I know later he will start pulling again most likely. But training will be a big part of his life now. Tomorrow we will do it again. I know it will take time but he seems to be smart. He is very eager to please.
Train little and often, and don't forget it takes a while for them to get it. Even a couple of mins walking round the garden with tasty treats will help his training.
He'll get it, don't worry. Keep us posted!
