This past weekend I watched a rerun (several times over, but I keep forgetting to post!), of ringsport on Animal Planet. This was a competition in Canada. There were mainly Mals, and well, I have to say, I was impressed. There were some very nice dogs- that bitch named Nikita was most impressive. The thing that really impressed me was the work with the basket. The dog has to protect that basket with no handler around. She has to stand in it, and fend off attempts to take it by using the helper's suit I think it must take some serious nerves to have no handler around and deal with the attempts, but not leave the bucket after each one- you know, get distracted.. The dogs were also super fit, and clearly just made for this sport. I really enjoyed it.
It's part of the "Ultimate Dog Championship" series. This batch of shows has examples of fly ball, agility, police K9 trials, lure coursing and other dog sports. It's usually on Sunday at 10am ET/PT.
It doesn't look like Ring Sport is in the current schedule for a while. Skijoring, Whippet Trials, Frisbee, Agility and Flyball are on the schedule for the next month. However, it seems that the ringsport show is re-run about every two or three months.

If it as a basket it most likely was French ring
