I had explained in an earlier post that my dog "Bella" had received staples, but They seem to be very different pattern that is used with stitches?? I have looked on the internet for pictures of dogs that have had staples at about the same age but can find none??
Basically, I don't think that these are done to the best of our VET's ability, or possibly ther could be an infection??
I have kept her "down" and under control for the past ten days. I don't see as if she did something that could have "torn" them out but one did pull through??
any ideas or pics, or sites that I can look at? I have a vet appointment tomorrow and I want to have a "leg-to-stand-on" when I question him about the way they are stitched?
seems that her pee is also a dark yellow or "greenish" tint??

I have seen stapled wounds and stapled incisions, however I have not personally seen staples used for a spay. I don't think it's unusual.
Staples can pop out more easily than a suture. If that's happened you will see an open gap that needs to be attended to by the vet. Depending on where the incision is on the animal's body and the energy level of the dog, staples may not always be the best option.
Some animals have allergic reactions to staples. The site may beome red, itchy, and inflamed and needs to be checked by the vet. Obviously, if there is any pus or off-color discharge than that needs to be checked.
It certainly looks more "Frankenstein-ish" than standard sutures but if you're concerned than you should absolutely ask your doctor to address those concerns.

Ok Just got back from the Vet and this is what happend? He used traditional stitches on the incision, then used staples to reinforce the stitches becasue she is an older, very active puppy!
