I know the OFA site says that the heat cycle
can affect the outcome of a bitch's xrays due to increased joint subluxation during that time, BUT has anyone actually found a scientific controlled study to back that up?
Has anyone had any PERSONAL experience with xraying a bitch in heat who came back not good and then later re-xrayed and she was good?
My vet seems to disagree with the notion that it makes a discernable difference.
Contact the OFA for that info. Unless your vet is willing to reshoot the x-rays for FREE if the dog doesn't pass and he is wrong, I would go with the OFA's opinion.
If he is that sure it doesn't make a difference, then I suppose he shouldn't have a problem with that.
I did contact the OFA. They advised waiting but did not answer my request for a link or information on the "studies" that were done that support the claim.
That's why I posted here to see if anyone has had any personal experience with it.
