I have just switched to an all RAW diet. I had been doing Raw in the am and kibble in the pm. Now we are full fledged Raw.
I was wondering how much Vit E to give a 130 lb dog. I am giving him 13000 mg of salmon oil a day and 400IU of Vit E. Is this enough Vit E? He also gets some Ester C and yogurt.
He is recovering from a pretty serious sarcoptic mange infection. His coat is fairly poor and thin and his skin is still dry and flaky, expecially around the worst areas of the infestation.
Is there anything eles I can do for him to help his skin and coat during the healing process?
But your dog is over 100 lbs. I wonder do you need to give another 200 IU on top of the recommended amount? Hopefully, Connie will see this, and chime in.
I did see that post from yesterday. I know my dog is the "bigger" variety. But is he considered bigger than big and needs a bit more?
I am also wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on what I should be feeding/supplmenting to boost his immune system. I don't think he has the best immune system.
He is a very light pigmented Boerboel. His skin will react (hives) to various outdoor plants ect. He had a recent E Coli testicular infection which resulted in 3 days at Tufts Veterinary Hospital and his neutering. This is one of the reasons I decided to go Raw.
