ok.
i was walking one of my dogs earlier, and the lady that lives across the road from the people that used to have my puppies, and had Capone and Sugar(the mother) came up to me and was crying.
Apparently, Sugar, the pups mother had been laying dead in their back yard for almost a week. Still chained up. The owner went out and pulled her dog house in front of the body so he didnt have to see her. He won't bury her, they are being evicted, and plan to just move out and leave her body there.
The 2 remaining puppies are as the lady said dying, barely alive sitting in a small cage in their kitchen, infested with fleas and worms, starving.
I want to vomit, and i am still shaking.
I am calling animal control and the police first thing in the morning.
They cannot ignore this.
So, i do have a question(no connie, this isn't a rant this time, lol).
I am tempted to go out and see if i can take pictures. I think i can get some without actually going in their yard.
Should i do this? I don't want them to take off without paying for this, they were supposed to be out yesterday. If i didn't think i could get some pics without stepping on their property, i wouldn't, so i wouldn't be trespassing.

oh, that is awful. absolutely disgusting.
i would take pictures....especially if you can do so without going in their yard. i've removed decaying bodies before and it's not pretty, but you obviously know that - i'm just thinking mental prep, as it will be upsetting.
the behaviour of people like that needs to be documented. that makes me so angry.
sugar's body being left as it is might also violate some public health regulations - just a thought.

oh god, she actually is dead.
i didn't want my flash from my camera to draw attention, so i will wait until very early in the morning to take pictures.
those fo you who are familiar with laws, what could happen to these people?
we don't have an "animal cops" here, like they do on animal planet, who would slap them with cruelty and neglect charges, and likely take them to jail.
What can regular animal control do?
i think, rather, i know those pups will be taken this time.
If they aren't being used for evidence, i will go straight to the shelter and adopt them.

This is NOT legal advice - just thinking out loud. If they're being evicted and are no longer valid renters, I would think that the only person who could object to your "trespassing" would be the actual property owner. I wouldn't think an decent owner would object to what you're trying to do. But in your case, I'd get someone else to go along with you. There might be a little more "safety in numbers."
Be careful.

you have a point.
but, as luck would have it, for whatever reason, my cell phone(my only phone) says no service. This has happened within the last 3 hours.
maybe the provider is doing some work or what not.
either way, first thing in the morning, i will go to a payphone if i have too. thankfully, i have the officer who was on this case's cell number,
no office worker saying "someone will be out there when they can" and the next day some one shows up after they have left.
I am so thankful i got capone when i did.
He would be dead now too.
now i won't be nervous about walking him around my house during the day. They have absolutely no right to him, and any officer or judge could see that. He was roaming at large, no collar, no tags or microchip, and i kept him.
I am so worried about those pups.

They as in Police or animal services, can enter the yard if they see the violation/crime. I would call them ASAP, if they are still there, be careful and let the Police do their work. They will have to take their own pictures anyway. There are laws for disposing deceased animals and animal cruelty, also civil fines here in Florida.

her body is in her doghouse in the back yard, with the opening facing the trees behind the yard.
Will that count as being able to see it? I know if they get a complaint, they will go anyway.
Would it be better to call animal control, the police, or both?

alright, i called the police. Animal control doesn't open until noon today, and this just can't wait that long.I also mentioned they aren't supposed to be there(evicted thursday).
I told them about the mom dead, and told them if they take those puppies out, i have a lactated ringer, etc here at my house, and can take them right away.
so we will see.
i swear, i barely slept. I had dreams about dead pit bulls.
my therapist really does have a field day with me, lol.

animal control just came and took the puppies, and the dead mom.
how would i go about asking for those pups to adopt?
do they keep them a certain number of days since this was a seizure instead of just finding them?
Those pups were born in september, and they were the same size as my 9 lb chihuahua.
It seems like they have been that same size and weight for 2 months.
