my friend has a GSD who she is told is a grate grandson of Grim. Now, i'm sure lots of breeders(bad breeders) will say this.
She got him because the breeder thought his testicles weren't going to descend, but they did after she got him.
Anyway, she is trying to get Josef's papers, and we can't find this guy.
We are in NC, and she is in the Charlotte area.
Whoever he is, he DOES train police dogs, and hers is from czech stock.....
how can we find this? Does anyone here know how to find a mystery breeder?
She remembers his papers saying "Vom Lewis" on them, or something to that effect. His dads name is Titus.
She would like to work him, but can't find this guy(or girl).
here go some pics, not that it helps, but it might, and he is a nice dog
i did a search of his father, Titus Vom Lewis, and got a Congo von Lewis and it didn't give any breeder info, but there was a pedigree that did go back to Grim(SG Grim z Pohraniční stráže CS).
This is so confusing! Ahhhh!

Well if the dog is registered AKC you can do an online pedigree request. Takes about 5 minutes.
Really you need a name, email address, phone number, location, birthdate, another dog they've owned. A friend. Something to work off of that is solid. Once you have one of these things finding the others is pretty easy. How did your friend find this dog in the first place? Unless it was a grocery store parking lot there must be some way to contact the breeder based off of that.
the former owner just keeps telling her to "just register him with the CKC and be done with it".
But she know he has real papers somewhere, and he has a solid bloodline.
We will call around some more....

Well alot of people get upset with AKC over various trivial things imo. Just keep in mind this is the same dog with or without the papers it just limits what you really *should* use him for in the future.
There are alot of people who don't give out akc paperwork with pets these days as a way to protect the dogs from breeding; check the paper sometime for ads that say purebred, both parents akc but no registration will be given.9 out of 10 times one or both the parents were limited reg or it can be used as a way this dog will not be traced back to them for various reasons such as genetic faults, accidental non preferred breedings, owner doesn't want to have to put out the money for frequently used sire, etc etc.
