I've been searching for some new reading material regarding dog behaviour and was wondering if any of you have come across some good books on the subject.
Don't exactly know what you're looking for, and I'm sure you'll get recommendations from others. The only one I have and have read is "The Dog's Mind..." You can read some reviews here .
It's been around a while, but I thought it was a good read.
Hey Terra, I just finished Patricia McConnells's "The other End of the Leash" and really enjoyed it. It's a pretty quick read and what I liked so much about it was that it didn't focus only on DOG behavior, but on the way HUMAN (and really PRIMATE) behavior differs from it, and how the two can really clash when it comes to coexisting, simply based on our very different evolutionary design. It also talks about classic dog behaviors and solutions to common "problems", but I found it really reflective. It made me more closely analyze what I do and how I behave around my dog - and in return how he interprets me. Good stuff.
There's so much out there though - I'm interested in keeping tabs on this list as well! Thanks for requesting recommendations!

Thats sound really interesting since it compares human and dog behaviour, I will defintly check that one out.
Hopefully there will be some other members posting any good feedback on books they have read on this subject.
One of my favorites is Susanne Clothier's 'Bones Would Rain From The Sky'. It debunked a lot of old ideas I'd hung onto and just made a lot of sense....she really challenges the reader to examine one's concepts and reactions to the dogs' behaviors. I'm sure I can't really explain this but I have read it a couple times and continue to refer to it a lot.
