I just wanted to ask?
Where do heartworms come from I know mocquitos
But is there another bug they come from like fleas or anything else?
I would like to prepare myself for her results more one way or another as I said she was covered in fleas.
And she is spunky and loves walks with me she does not like men so something there.
Anyway off topic.
Any info would be great thanks I want this girl to have a good life from here on out.
And also is there anything you can put on her to help her stop the itching she has no fleas but very dry skin

It might take a couple of weeks for her skin to show the benefits of the fish oil and E ... plus food!
the heartworms are from the "skeeters", but with fleas, i would be VERY surprised if she doesn't have tapeworms.
With any kind of substantial flea infestation-you have a hefty tapeworm infestation too......

She is going next week the vet wants her to put on 5 to 10 pounds before we really do much of anything.
But My vet is real nice I start my intern ship with her next month
I am about to get my vet tech stuff finished.
Any way her skin looks better today.
My vet did a skin scraping we thought it might be mage no just really bad fleas.
That is how bad she looks I will put a pic up today.
But it is from the front so you cant see all the stuff
But she is a sweetie.

Ok She has this god awful smell
She has had 3 baths in 2 days
I looked in my texts books but did not find anything on this smell.
It smells like rotting flesh.
But not as bad as rotting flesh that is the scent and that is the best way to describe it.
No open wounds but the one from the stratching.
And she has calise forming on her legs from laying on concrete
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this before
