Hello all! I have been following this forum for a few years and finally decided to join in. My name is Sandy Vernlund from Brookings, South Dakota with three dogs. I work "Shadow" (GSD) in SAR Air Scent and now training for disaster work. "Bodasafa" is a Walker Coonhound/Lab mix that does SAR Tracking and Trailing for me. "Pepper" is a long-haired Chihauhau that is frankly... 5 pounds of attitude. I am a member of Brookings County SAR and Brookings CERT and work full time at 3M developing interactive computer training courses. I enjoy reading all of your posts and hope to jump in there from time to time!
Wow! I really love Shadow. He is one good looking dog. I would love to train my dogs to search but I don't think I have the stamina to keep up! I know there are other SAR handlers on the board too. I think it will be a great resource to you. Welcome and Good work!
Thanks Angela! Shadow is a great dog and when she retires (a long time from now I hope) I will be going back to the same breeder for another one. She is so smart, has great drive and loves her job.
