I have a 7mth female GSD and she is great but she feels that she is the boss, but she is getting better with time. My question is she is part East german, chez with a very powerful drive. I need some help to keep her better under control. She is good when we go for walks, working but she thinks that I'm her chew toy, and will not drop the ball when I ask so I have put that certain ball away. What can I do to? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> T2811@aol.com
Tina, If your dog thinks that she is boss, I assure you things are not getting better with time. Ed has tapes that will help. Your days of putting up with "puppy mouthiness" should be over and my guess is you want to start correcting those types of actions. Regarding the ball thing, try taking two balls out with you next time. Tease her a bit with the second ball thats in your hand. You won't toss that ball until she drops the one in her mouth. Once she gets the hang of this game she will love it. It sounds like she has a good ball drive. You could also bribe that ball out of her mouth with a treat. That one almost never fails.
