Thanks in advance!

A lot of grain and starch.
I have seen much worse, but I personally would look further and not feed that.
Looks like Life's Abundance Chicken ... ?

P.S. Emily, it's the first three or four ingredients that shorten the list.... they tell you what the food is mainly made from.
If there are grain fractions in the first three or four, then you keep looking and you probably see more grain fractions, which, if added together, can make grain the number one ingredient.
Because that is not the case here, I said that I had seen much worse. But rice and potato in Number two and three adds up to a lot of carbs.

I also don't think beet pulp is a good ingredient. It's horse food (a filler). And what exactly is "potato product?"
Edit: the good points are that the protein sources are named (chicken, catfish) rather than "meat". And chicken meal is the first ingredient. Also the food does not contain corn.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
My dog are on IAMS right now. It is terrible, I know. My parents buy the dog food, but AS SOON as I get a job, both of my dogs will be making the switch to raw because I will have the money to pay for their food. My mom says when I have money I can feed them whatever I want. Please don't chew me out about the IAMS--I recognize it as being bad food, and I hate that is what my dogs eat but at this moment in time I can't do much about it.
Is the food I posted a lot better than IAMS?? If it worth switching my dogs from Iams to the posted food, I will definitely do it. If not, I'll just wait it out and switch directly to raw when I can.

Emily
One idea for you might be to visit http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com Here you can look at kibble rated from 1 to 6 stars. From a quick search it looks as though most if not all Iams kibbles are rated 1 star. If you can identify some kibbles that rate higher than what you currently feed then compare prices you may be able to feed a better kibble for a similar price.

Emily,
No worries...since your parents are paying for the food, is there a food that you can get in your area on the all-natural kibble list here:
All Natural Kibble List
Maybe you could ask your parents to switch which food they buy for you? Some on this list are even less expensive than IAMS so that may be a selling point?
I commend you for planning on switching your dogs when you can. That is what matters, you know what to do and you will when you are able to. Good Job.

What are the differences in how the meat is listed? I see meal,by products, by product meal, or just the name (chicken, beef ect)

Shannon and Carol thank you so much for those links. We switched the dogs once to Nutro Max, thinking it may be slightly better than IAMS. My APBT is still on that because he has weight control so his food is different from the other dogs, but my APBT/Boxer had a BAD allergic reactions (all her fur fell out) so we switched the rest of the dogs back to IAMS. My mom wouldn't care if I reccomended a new food, but it had to be obtainable and it has to be less expensive or equal to IAMS' price.
