I have a 6 month old intact male. I also have a 2 year old unaltered female who is about to come into heat. I need to know is my male ABLE to get my female pregnant at this time. This is not what I want, but ... dont know if it's even possible.
Thanks to any information you can provide... I am new to this website and have been looking for a site like this for a long time. I have one for my bird, now it is great to have for my GSDs.

You will want to separate them, carefully and stringently.
If you assume that he can't get her pregnant then he will be very agile, aggressive and fertile. If you want her to get pregnant by him (planned mating) he will have no sex drive and no sperm. Murphy's Law. And if you watch them closely and he shows no interest in her/she appears to be out of heat he will get the job done when you leave the room for 2 minutes. Murphy's Law again.
Just don't let them near each other for at least 3 weeks.
