A very long PM thread was accidentally posted in total on the public board without the permission of each contributor, and I've been asked to correct that.
Of course, we all know that PM means Private Message.
So it's good that the error was realized.

Off the top of my head:
Working Dog: Service Dogs and dogs who play an integral role in their handlers occupation(LEO, SAR, Prof. Trainers, Termite Inspectors, Airport Security, Therapy dogs (non-volunteer), etc..)
Pet w/ hobby: Sport dogs, therapy dogs (who's owners are volunteers)

I separated it using the literal sense, same as the handler/owner. If it's not a job, than I put it in the hobby category!
What's funny, is I have come to view the word "pet" as almost a derogatory statement, and I use it that way too, sort of narrowing my eyes & biting off the "t" at the end. In fact it bothers me so much I would change the 2nd category to read companion/hobby !!!

That category applies to my dog, too. My comment was meant to be "tongue in cheek". The reason I have a problem specifically with the word "pet" is as of late, I have been running into more and more people who breed GSDs specifically for the pet market. They will tell you "I don't care about titles or working ability because I am providing "pets". They feel the best thing for the breed in the USA is to breed for soft temperments, and no energy, so that everyone could have a dog that looks like a big, fluffy RinTinTin but acts like a stuffed animal on a pillow. That's why I narrow my eyes and spit out the last "t". That's why I prefer the word companion.
