Does anyone use or have imput on this food. Trying it for my gsd who is EXTREMELY allergic to everything. One of his allergins is alfalfa (along with every other grass) and it's amazing the foods that have alfalfa in it. I'm just assuming since he's positive for the environmental allergin it'd be best not to feed it to him. Sucks for him cause he's around so much hay with the horses and hate to make him wait in the car. Started desensitization shots today. Anyway imput on the food would be great, they all were on canidae.

I've tried it once. I didn't see as much improvement as I saw with plain old canidae and frankly the dogs liked Canidae better. The only one of Innova's product line that I've had really excellent success with was EVO which has your allergen in it.
You mention your dog is allergic to alfalfa. That is a difficult one to work with in the realm of kibble, there are a few options though. Of diets for allergy riddled dogs Nature's Balance has been a pretty consistant success story for those that use kibble, I've also known people to have success with the solid gold brand.
Oh! Oh! Raising hand! I have a suggestion. TRY RAW!!! I have a GSD that had been suffering from diarrhea, itchy skin, and watery eyes. He had always been on holistic food(Canidiea,Solid Gold, and Calif. Natural ).My problems were discussed on this board.
I slowly came around. All three of my dogs are now on raw meaty bones.
My GSD never liked his food. He always had episodes with diarrhea and was thin with a brittle, thin coat. Since this was my first GSD I was beginning to think that this breed had sensitive stomachs(or at least this one did).
Well that was only a month ago. He now has no diarrhea and he has gained over 6lbs! His coat came in thick, soft, and shiny.
OH and one of my main rewards is that HE LOVES HIS FOOD! All my dogs do. If you are thinking about feeding raw you will get excellent advice from people on this board. Then read a couple of books they recommend and go for it! I'm glad I did. But I never would have if this board and it's members hadn't taken the time to educate me. Thanks everyone!
I'm only home for about 6 hours a day to sleep, raw isn't very practical. I need food easily toted with me, dog is with me.
I did look at wellness, there was something in it that prevented me from using it. He was on Innova and Canidae. Well I really don't think his whole problem is food allergy I just wanted to steer away from what may be positives even though food allergy testing isn't very accurate. It's good to hear Califoria Natural is on Ed's list. He seems to LOVE it, actually the cats all came running thinking it was for them (it's herring and sweet potato). I can't believe how hard to find food without alfalfa. Bad thing is he loves to climb hay bales and play in it.
We have fed California Natural for about 3 years and have had no trouble with it. A few people we train with have used it for over 10 years and are also happy with it. I'm not endorsing it per se, but it works well for us. If you're looking for something that specifically does not have alfalfa in it, I'd go with Innova Evo, b/c it contains no grain, b/c as good as Cal Nat is, they probably wouldn't guarantee that it was alfalfa free.
