I figured I'd introduce the little squirt who has been terrorizing me since I brought him home in early November. Meet Strata!



Strata is a seven-month-old Sheltie puppy. His registered name is Belcroft In A Sweet Dream, and he is from a co-breeding of Allaround, Belcroft, and Majestyk Shelties. His father is a super performance dog, he got his MACH right after I brought Strata home (also has CDX, rally and herding titles) and one of his puppies from a past litter already has his MACH too. So it's a nice big agility family!

Strata's a really good boy, very bright, picks up things quickly. Agility is my main focus for him but we'll probably pick up rally and obedience titles along the way. I'm also showing him in some UKC conformation shows for kicks. He isn't too 'chewy' or obnoxious and is not a fearful or barky Sheltie -- at all. His temperament is stone solid with the exception of a bit of worry about cars (after some idiot revved his engine at him on our first walk together -- thanks, buddy).

It's exciting to have a puppy in the house again after nine years of 'old dog' (my affectionate nickname for my Springer, who is still goin' strong). It's nice to have an opportunity to do everything 'right' with him after doing everything 'wrong' with my old girl. He has a ton of drive and plays and plays and plays (and 'outs' promptly on command like a good boy), so he's going to be a blast to do agility with.
