I know pacific salmon and trout contain parasites that harbor harmful bacteria for dogs, but what about farm raised and Atlantic salmon?
1. Only raw salmonids from west of the Cascade range -- not all Pacific salmonids
2. Atlantic does not have it
3. Farmed fish has many other problems; farmed fish doesn't host the parasite you mean (or hasn't been seen to yet), but it regularly tests very high in PCBs and several other contaminants, as well as testing way low in the beneficial long-chain Omega 3s that are a primary reason for including oily fish in the diet
Thanks Connie
I am not very concerned with PCB levels for several reasons
The relatively low levels of fatty acids compared to non-farm raised Salmon is fine with me also because it is slow released.
