Someone asked about the effects of alcohol on dogs. I tried to research it on the internet and found little info other than beer is not at all healthy for dogs. Apparently many dogs like beer.
Oddly enough I was shocked to find there are websites that state they make non alcoholic beer just for dogs.
ahh. when i googled, all the side effects appeared to correspond to drunkness, so i wasn't sure.
(note - i don't actually give them alcohol, luc has jumped in to clear up beer overflow and teagan will just sneak in if she gets the chance, now that i know her habits though, i'm careful about making sure she doesn't get any....that was from more of a 'don't stick your tongue in my drink' perspective, but it's good to know that it's also just not safe)

Alcohol is toxic to every living thing, so is water, just depends on the dose. It even kills the little anarobic yeast that make it.
I am sure in the wild the Canine family comes in contact with ethanol regularly.
That said, I wouldn't try to find out how much it too much. But if your dog knocks over a beer and drinks it I wouldn't be too concerned.
I had a guy in a pub put a full pint of beer down in front of the firt Rott I owned, he thought he was very funny until the dog knocked it over and it spilled onto the carpet. The dog probably drank about half of it with no obvious ill effects, didn't even notice him staggering.
