Someone sent me these pics of pups she has for sale. She says they are purebred malinois. I was just curious if they look like purebred malinois? I am not sure from the pics and before I drive all the way to see them in person, I just wanted some reassurance from people who would know.
Well its not that I really doubt the person, he is a police officer and all, but the last puppy pic really made me wonder. I guess its that cautious buyer thing.

No issue with being cautious, but hopefully as it is a Law Enforcement Officer selling them, they are purebred Mali pups.
Is the adult Mal the sire? Dam? You can always ask who the other parent is and if that one is available to see as well......
I think the last pup picture is just funky....but I agree with Will...they look more like little coyotes when they are young.

Dear Joseph: I do not have as much experience with pups as some people do, but they do not look like the Mali pups I would take home. Of course I am spoiled, seeing Cindy and Ed's dogs. They just don't look as beautiful and healthy as they could. Of course I do not know what they are being fed. I would be cautious, check out some other breeders, maybe even contact Ed and Cindy and talk with them.
Well I have chosen to not purchase one from this person. After talking to them for a while, something seemed off. So I took the advice I was given and am looking somewhere else. Thanks everyone for your comments.
Joseph, they look purebred to me. A caution with the word "purebred" though. Not all purebred dogs are of the same quality (if I can use that word). There are back yard breeders (not saying the guy that bred these pups are) that could rarely put out a quality litter like the experienced, know what they're doing, breeders who start out with quality sires and dams and a good lineage and know how to breed to better the breed, instead of just breeding cause they have purebred dogs.
You undoubtedly know that you have to decide what plans you have for the puppy beforehand and try to get a puppy that will hopefully help you fulfill those plans, whether a purely family companion dog (who will need something meaningful to do anyway and lots of exercise) or a sports dog to enter in competition.
If you go to Cindy Easton Rhodes' site who raises Malinois (although not currently) http://www.kaiserhaus.com/ you will have something to go on, and she has a link to youtube.com where you can view videos of litters of puppies she's bred, like these videos at various ages: http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kaiserhausmal&p=r
Arm yourself with knowledge before your purchase. One of those puppies you have pictures of could very well meet your expectations, whatever they may be.
