For those of you that missed the CBS Early Show, they had a "Doggie IQ Test" where they tested three dogs and the GSD won (would there be any doubt?) Not sure how accurately it measured canine intelligence but it was interesting to watch.
If you go to the website for the test: http://www.poochiq.com it is a kit of stuff you have to buy. It sounds like it could be fun for people to get involved with their dogs but it seems like it would be pretty basic stuff. Good to get people involved in working with their dogs but I don't know, seems gimicky to me.
I think its more complicated that that, MIke. obviously if you send some yay-hoo $ 50 for an IQ test for dogs, you may not have the sufficent IQ to administer the test.....
PS, that was sarcastic, not pointed at you
I apologize, that was a little crude but it just reminds me of this $60 "agility"set I bought a while back....the entire thing consisted of plastic poles that broke when the dog missed the jump, and wouldnt stand up. the only thing I really got out of it was a free Ribbon that said "1st Prize agility champion" *scoffs* but it tickled me to buy the set...until I tried to use it.

AHAHAHAHA That's a knee slapper!
Actually of the dogs demonstrating the test the mutt was the dumbest because he didn't know his owner was under the blanket, the GSD was in the middle because he removed the blanket, but the smartest of all was the beagle because he not only recognized his owner was under the blanket, he refused to remove it from the idiot who gave him such a dumb test in the first place.
Looking at the website, seems she has sold about 7000 kits at $50 per. So... that makes $350,000 for a few dixie cups, a kong and a short pamplet that most likely was developed from Coren's book. The book is more interesting anyway.
Not too shabby of a payday.
Looking at the dogs in the video, most of them could stand to miss a few meals.
