i have a 4 month old GSD, and we live here in the midwest and Spring has arrived
My pup has a little bit of a green discharge out of one of his eyes, right by the tear duc, it seems both eyes are runny with tears. It seems real apparent when he wakes up from a nape. Some others in my dog club have said there dogs get runny eyes this time of year, but the slimmy green stuff out of one eye makes me wonder.
any thoughts or advice would be great.
and as always
thank you

Green, or discolored discharge, can be the sign of an infection so if it were my dog I'd have it looked at. Conjunctivitis, which can produce green goo, is pretty common and easy to treat.
Mine is no shade of green, but it seems like my one new foster has either spread a cold or its a coincidence and its just allergies due to the wonderful spring weather, but a few of my guys have had excessive morning eye snot for the past few days.

My dog's lower eye lids roll out so he's predisposed to eye goobers. In the last month, with all the pollen flying around, they are much goobier than usual. We regularly wipe it away with clean hands or a warm wash cloth.
Thick, discolored, persistant goo (along with rubbing the eyes) is cause for a an eye exam, IMO
