Karla, I've been giving my dog Recovery SA since he was 8 weeks old. The reason I give it, besides that it was recommended by his breeder, is due to this, stated on their website: "increasing the cell's resistance to damage and improving it's ability to repair damage." I've used a different product but, like Sandy, have been giving it since my pup arrived. I don't ever recall reading that starting a pup on glucosamine is harmful.

I don't think it's harmful, but I keep up very closely on the trials and research, and there has been no proof whatsoever (that I know of) that it does any good in a young dog with no joint problems.
