Melissa Hau Webboard User Reg: 04-11-2008 Posts: 234 Loc: Dallas, TX Offline	My husband and I just got a 2.5 yo female GSD, she was obedience trained in Slovakia. We discovered this website recently and had found so much useful information here. We just ordered Ed's DVDs on pack structure, basic obedience, and training focus/drive, we can hardly wait to watch them. Our knowledge of dog training is quite limited, we are trying to educate ourselves so we don't reverse the training she had already received.

We got her mainly as a companion, but we are learning more about the working line GSDs from this site. We are trying to learn more about dog obedience and such, even though we are not interested in sports/competition, we want to do what we can to keep her mentally active and happy. It sounds silly, we've had her for five weeks now, and we are still trying to figure out what commands she knows (other than the basic sit/down/stay/come).

My husband and I found a few other Slovak dog commands on the internet by accident, so we called them out just for fun, and the she started responding.....(crawl, jump, take your place....). She has a couple of interesting habits as well, she automatically leaves the kitchen whenever we are eating (she will lay outside the kitchen entrance facing us), and she won't enter the kitchen until we leave the dining table. She automatically wedges herself on the floor between the front and back car seats whenever we are driving, and will only get up when we park the car. The seller doesn't appear to know anything it. We are wondering if there are commands for such actions....

We are very lucky to have been matched up with her, she is calm and easy to work with, her personality is great. We hope that the DVDs will help us be better dog owners.
