I am curious if there is a way to track down my dogs breeder to see her family tree. I believe she is a pure breed American Bully that is 14 months old.
She most likely came from Sacramento area.
I know the original owner is a black pastor who now lives in Texas but I do not know his name.
Is this enough information to start searching? Is there a site that breeders go to register when their pups where born?
For example a web-site that lists all breeder in the north-west that had American Bulldog pups in Febuary or March 07?
She is an exceptional dog, as far as temperment, drive, training go. I often feel that my inexperience limits her, and she could do just about any work given the proper handling.
Thanks for the help or any ideas to help me get started.
I would start by calling trainers and clubs in that area to see if they know of anyone that breeds bullys. It is usually a small world, so it's not uncommon for a breeder to know the other breeders of a particular breed in a tristate area. Did you get her from a shelter? They are supposed to take down information from the person surrendering the animal, you can try that as well. They usually keep records for a few years at least... Those are my suggestions...
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
I got her from a friend who got her from the original owner. The guy I got her from was "going to get me the papers" from the original owner.
I wish he would just give me the original owners name so I could call him and ask myself for the papers.
