I'm taking my dog to the vet Monday, but thought I would see what you guys might know about mites/mange on my 3 year old Rhodesian. Last Monday I picked up my dog from the kennel, she was there for 4 1/2 days and noticed about 5 spots on one side, mostly towards her thigh area, showing through her fur. When I saw them, I thought it was remaining wet spots from the bath they had given her, so I didn't question it. Although, a couple hours later she still had them so I knew it was something she either layed on while in the kennel or sores. Today, a week later as they appear the same size but a few more, I looked up on the internet about mites and dogs, the pictures of the mites on the dog's skin look just like what she has, the little black line in the middle of raw, sore, skin.
I notice there is a solution posted on here to get rid of them and will probably try it. I'm wondering how she got mange, from the kennel, stress, lack of immune system? She's been kenneled before, but at a different place. Could it be the place I took her to?

When my dog had mites, it looked more like the hair just fell out. Are you sue it couldn/t be ringworm? I think usually mites are more around the eyes first, that is where two of my dogs have had them in the past. It really is hard to diagnose wihout the vet doing a scraping I beleive.
If it is mites, I have been told that in an adult dog, it means a problem with the immune system. The stress from being boarded can cause the immune system to suffer.
What are you feeding? My RR had a slight amount of hair loss over his eye that looked like mange. He was having some other problems also. I switched him to RAW, and, so far, all of his problems have gone away. I would reccomend it highly.

Sounds like ring worm to me but the vet should be able to confirm in short order what it is tomorrow.
Be careful if it is because you can also get ringworm from your dog which is a mess to pass back and forth.
As far as boarding, wait to see what the vet says it is exactly. If it is something she picked up in boarding I'd present them with the bill because usually it is due to dogs having contact who had no business being in contact with each other or due to unsanitary conditions.
Thank you for your responses! I took her to the vet today, and come to find out it's neither mites or ring worm, Yeah! , it's some sort of dermatitis that became infected and is spreading through an allergic reaction. So she's on prednizone, antibiotics, and I'm to give her a bath with an antibacterial shampoo to open up her pores and dry everything up. Hopefully it will all work and she'll be as good as new!
