Ok, I just received my orbee ball and wow does my dog love it...Here is my question..I have been training my dog "Lord" focus with treats....holding them out and rewarding when he maintains eye contact...I havent got dvd yet but from what i gather, the dog is made to have eye contact on the reward..Ive only been training the focus my way for about a week.....Do i need to stop what im doing and wait for the dvd and am i gonna have issues retraining another way...Like i said, havent seen dvd yet but should real soon...

I started with treats, then moved to an orbee and didn't have problems. My dog is a pet so my training was different than someone training for sport or PPD.
My dog gets WAY more amped up over a toy than a treat so intially the eye contact went out the window until he caught on that maintaining focus on me got him a reward.
The only trouble I've ever had with using a toy is training focused heeling. At the suggestion of a forum member, I went back to treats and that worked better for us.
I have one dog who is completely food driven while my older girl is toy driven. Once you figure out what drives the dog trsining is easier.
I loved the dvd. It had GREAT tips and has really ampted up my older dogs drive and helped my puppy focus so much easier than before I watched the dvd.

Similar situation with Sasha. No food drive at all. She gets totally wound up for the training and is definitely more focused. One suggestion is to follow what is on the video. Make sure you don't move your body too much or you may become the "prey". Almost found out the hard way...LOL.
The way she focuses with the toy is the same way our other dogs focus with food. I guess each dog is different so use what works IMO.
