thanks....Bounettehi all. i've missed you all a great bunch... i took a little breather. i was getting very frustrated and very whiny and miserable with all my failed attempts to get another gsd. i had to sit back a minute and wait my turn. i have welcomed another puppy into my home about 4 weeks ago. she is the daughter of the police dog here in my little city....anyways, she seems to be a little on the wimpy side. introduced her to my neighbor and his dog this morning and she was carrying on barking growling, wimpering, and my neighbor's dog is well behaved. she is not very tough. hopefully i can give her the right ingredients and change that around as much as possible. but does anyone have any suggestions? i don't really plan on socializing her with other dogs until all her shots are done so i may have to wait until then. but please give me any suggestions you all have....
nice to be back

I too am haveing a great time with my new addition. Sometimes she is more then I think I can handle.
Using only positive motivation is frustrating for me. It seems to take longer to get the message across.
Then I think about how frustrating the pup would become using COMPULSION. Much better for me to be frustrated then Fanni. I'm used to, no sense letting her experience aything but good positve experinnces.
Any type of shepherd including Aussies are just plain vocal,& the noises seem to get more loud & more emphatic as time goes on, I sit with mine in a rocking chair one at a time & we "tell each other stories." They have some neat ones to tell, too.
