I am pet sitting a staffie.
And she pulls my arm off on walks and when I take her potty.
Now I know for sure if someone did anything to my dog training wise without asking I would be very mad.
So I quess what I am saying is what should I do I can correct her fearly quickly about pulling me. But I dont want to make the owner mad as this would be a repeat costumer. But I cant have my shoulder nocked out of socket everytime I take her on a walk.
She has a regular flat collar and a metal chain leach.
She is most likly 60 pounds a pure mussel.
Any help would be greatly thanks
Thanks in advance
Keep it informal so that the dog isn't "trained" in the strickt sence of the world (nobody can blame you for changing directions when the dog passes you). The owner will probably be pleased if his dog stopped pulling and you didn't train her. Don't overdo it and get the dog to do a schtzstyle heeling
The owners are in florida and I have no way to get ahold of them UI already have her.
I have a emrtency contact but I dont know if they will know anything

Stephanie,
I do not see anything wrong with you doing some turns and using some good treats to help keep this dog from pulling you all over, it may not work since you are not bonded with the dog though.
It will not hurt to try. As long as it is not harsh training, I would do it only because I do not like being pulled all over the place.

I am in the process of looking for a dog sitter to come in and walk my dogs when my youngest goes to college in the fall. I for one would certainly appreciate a sitter to make sure my dog behaves properly in public, being a PB! On the flip side I am concerned that the sitter will let my staff get away with stuff she has been trained not to. Just another perspective. Good luck to you and I think your concern is admirable
