Beautiful dog! She looks right at home on the tredmill!
Do you have any plans for her future training?

I'm curious as to why you've got a 12 week old pup on a treadmill already?

"Do you have any plans for her future training?"
basic obedience training, then with hand signals. after that its agility time, there are several facilitys around my area.
"I'm curious as to why you've got a 12 week old pup on a treadmill already?"
well after 3, 1 hour walks around the neighborhood, she still has some energy. and she seems to love the treadmill, she will sit up on it when no one is using it. and also why not? hehe as long as it dosnt hurt her.
peace

12 weeks old is way too young for 1 hour walks, not to mention 3 of them per day. She may have a ton of energy, but you need to find another outlet to help her wear out. Like mental stimulation games, marker training or something else.
That long of a walk is hard on puppies growing joints and stresses their bones. Especially on hard surfaces.

hmm, i thought i was doing the right thing. my vet said to keep walking under 2miles a day, and no running. well i dont want to stress my pups bones, so staying in the house most of the day is ok? playing with different alternating toys or something? any other mental stimulation ideas? she is a wild one, hehe how many hours is good a day in a fenced play pen (4ftx4ft)?

Gabe,
I would check out the marker training articles here. I do take my pups out and let them run around on a long line, but I am on 80 acres of soft ground.
The big thing is the hard surfaces and length of the walks, jumping onto and off of things from a high distance.
I tend to play games like teaching the dog to "touch" an item (an upside down food dish works great) with their feet or their nose. I use a clicker with a couple of my dogs and others I just use food reward, a verbal marker "yes" and I just have fun seeing what I can get the puppy to learn.
I keep sessions short at first and lengthen as I see the puppy focusing and paying attention more. Timing on when to stop before the pup loses interest in the game is equally important. That is why I start with 3 to 5 minutes at first.
The play pen is fine as long as it is not on concrete or other hard surfaces.

Carol, thank you so much for the insightfull responce. the touch the backside of a food dish game, sounds like a good mental stimulation game i need to start doing. i need to learn more mental games for Isis, she has SO much energy, and i need to learn to do more mental games, and less physical games at this point in the dogs life.
thanks again

Food is the best thing in the world to use when pups are young for training. You can use it to teach the sit, down or whatever (all seperately of course) as long as you keep it fun with no corrections.
Once the dog catches on that if he performs a certain behavior he gets a high value treat, you will see that he will throw behaviors out there to you to see what will get the food.
The sky is the limit......
