On the plus side we only have one neighbor. On the negative it is the neighbor from hell.
The dog isn't as aggressive as it is understimulated and over induldge. Not my issues. What drives me insane is the NONSTOP barking when it is outside.
Not only annoying but unfortuneately our mutual fence line is very close to our outdoor arena. It has been increaseingly dangerous to teach beginers in that space because the dog will race the fence line barking and often spooking the horses.
My question:
Do those sonic no bark units work? Where only the dog can hear? Supposedly stopping barking from 50 feet?
Michelle, I think if your right to have a business on your property is being interfered with for any reason, you should report it to the authorities. I assume that would be either police or sheriff.
I had a neighbor recently with a non-stop barking dog, every time I went out back to play with or train my dog or garden or whatever, and I took it for a while. Amazed that someone could be so inconsiderate as to not even try to stop the dog or take it inside. I talked to them about a bark collar. Their solution was to get rid of the dog, if you can believe that.
I used to work at a place that sold a model of ultrasonic devices. Don't recall the manufacturer but I could hear the damn thing and so could a couple other people. It would give you an aweful headache. As far as how well they worked we got pretty mixed revues. Some said they did, some said they didn't and a couple said it made the dog bark even more

I didn't even know they made a noise!
Did it make a constant noise, or only when the dog barked? (Obviously, I know zero about them.)

The only issue I have with these devices is that, yeah they may work for the neighbors dogs, but what about your own dogs?
I do not mind if my dogs bark, as they only usually bark if something or someone is near....so I would not want to correct them just because I was trying to correct the neighbors dog.
I would be harder pressed to use pepper spray......probably would only take once to stop the barking......
(I would check with LE or animal control first though)

I had thought about my dogs but I had not thought about the horses.
Also I thought since the dog was tecnically on its own property the athorities would not get involved. I will video and call.
I have talked to the neighbors on numerous occasions. WHEN the wife is sober she promises to keep her dog inside during lesson hrs. (never happens). When she has been drinking she DELIBERATELY spooks the horses.
This summer is the worse. My husband is now involved but he always wants to go the top of the line solutions. (fence, landscaping ect..) my husbands down fall is he is slow to act but when he does the solution is usually top notch.
I was looking for solutions in the interum. Luckily my dogs ignore the behavior. For the most part I avoid the outdoor arena but it is a waste of great space.
Thanks for the feedback. I am not going to waste the money ( and hurt my dogs ears) but I will put a case together for the athorities.
