I was with this board almost from the beginning and have dropped in from time to time, but haven't posted in years.
Nothing much to report on my end.
But what's been happening here? Are people like Van Camp still around? What's Ed been up to? Anyone know what became of Greg Mominee? And what do y'all think of Cesar Millan?
Regards, Pete

Well, his German is impressive.
Charlie, you probably remember when he pretty much ruled the roost around here...
Nice to see that everyone has carried on and built this forum into such an impressive resource.

Thanks for the linkage, Connie.
I personally like Cesar and think he's the first "dog expert" I've seen on TV who seems to know what the hell he's talking about, and isn't too prissy to assert some leadership when the situation calls for it. IMHO, his popularity is well-deserved.
Wish he'd been around when I got my first GSD, a real handler-hard butthead from East German lines. But then, I would have probably never discovered Schutzhund. ;-)

I'm with you. I was lucky enough to discover him pre-TV (along with about a zillion other folks) when he was very accessible and every person attending a seminar could take their dog along. Word of him spread from SoCal up here hundreds of miles away when he was pretty much a groomer.
He deserves all his fame and fortune, IMHO, but it would be so nice to have his one-on-one again.
P.S. If you have never caught the South Park episode that skewers him and his clients, you gotta watch for it in reruns.

I can guess as to how South Park might skewer some of the clients (remember the woman with the Shih-Tzu that bit everybody who came near it? The one with the ineffectual husband who seemed to think it was cute? Or the woman whose Chihuahua had bit her son several times--leaving SCARS--and who didn't have a problem with that?)
But unless they're lampooning his accent, it's pretty hard to see how they'd riff on Cesar.
Unless the show is put out by PETA types. I already know what they think of him *spit*.

Oh, no, it was hilarious. Cartman's mom called him to fix Cartman.

The writers actually treated the character of CM with surprising respect.
P.S. When Cartman ran away after the new "rules, boundaries, and limitations" were in place, and then returned, CM says "Oh look; it came back." I still laugh when I think of that episode.
