I got phoenix a car harness.
The problem I have been having with it she trys to move around.
The belt will shift and she wont be still.
I am worried to the fact of when i get her out she has her paws behind the seat belt we have a wrech her legs are broken.
What can I do I have to role all four windows down necause we dont have ac in our car. Thats why I dont have a kennel for her. To hot we are already having 90 + degree days.
What can I do I am no0t sure what harness brand it was given to me. It has 2 snaps that snap around her like a harness. then a strap that the belt goes through on top.
With a meltal loop on top for I am not sure what.
Bruiser does have a car seat that he uses cause he is so small

Huh?
Is it to accommodate a seat belt or seat belt/shoulder harness? Can you post a picture on Photobucket or something?
Google for some web sites with harnesses / restraints for dogs and see how some of them are attached.

Hmmm, let's see, black dog, black harness . . . that didn't help.
Anyway, I have harness that looks something like this:
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/wdcr8ns/public/redharness2.jpg
I think that the ring at the top of yours is for a leash. I doubt it's meant to be strong enough to be the contact point for securing the dog in the car. On mine, straps come together and snap at the top. The restraint strap - http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/wdcr8ns/public/restraintstrap3.jpg - is hooked to two rings at the top and the other end to the seat belt/shoulder harness. I have my dog in the back sear. The link on mine is attached to the shoulder harness portion of the belt where it loops through the swivel on the side of the car just back of the rear door (but that requires a link that can be opened) So it allows a fair amount of movement, but she's not going flying more than about 1 ft.
I suspect the nylon loop at the top of yours is for the seat belt and/or shoulder belt to go through. That means a lot more restricted movement, but it's a safe way for the dog to travel.

the loop is what i worry about I need to find one like yours.
It looks like I could by a step through harness and that would do the trick.
I have a amish made one that is very nice looks like the one you have on the dog but leather.
But I think I need to find a better one yes the stra on top if for the seatbelt.
But she can sift I dont have a middle seat belt in my car there is no buckle.
So I have to use one of the sides by the door for each dog

I have one of those I used before I bought my Element, but it had no buckles. Instead it had two things on either side of the shoulder almost like a plane seatbelt. I know exactly what you mean about the shifting around. You are supposed to thread the seat belt throught the loop and then buckle it in. It is a very sturdy harness, and I would trust that before my lead that buckles into the seatbelt.

We got the extra strap to hook to the metal thing.
It worked great a lot better I roled the window down and phoenix had just enough move to stick her head out and thats it.
I am very glad I got this strap it worked out great.
Thank you matt and mark.

I have utilized one of these “Pet Safety Sitters” in the past. With that said, Stephanie, after viewing your PICS, I suggest that before you place the seat belt through the nylon loop on the back of the harness that you loop the nylon loop under the harness towards your pups neck and then pull downward. This will take out some unnecessary slack. Insure that the upper strap and the lower strap are tightly fastened.
Mike is correct; you can attach a leash to the metal ring on back of harness when you and your pup are leaving your car. However, personally, I do not like to use the Pet Safety Sitter as a “working harness” per se’ – but that is just an individual choice. I hope this make sense. If not, let me know and I can send you some PICS demonstrating the aforementioned instructions. Matthew is correct, “it is a very sturdy harness”.

The harness only stays in the car the only reaon it was in the house to take pictures that night.
I bought a strap for the seat beat it conects to the seat belt.
Then I hook it to the metal part on the harness.
Instead of running the seat belt through the strap.
The metal part is reinforced like the loop is she has a collar with a leash attached in the car.
Could you send my some pictures I think I understand what you are saying but I just want to be sure
I also wanted to add I think it is the seat belt in my car not the harness most cars you can pull the seat belt out all the way then let it go and it will lock.
Not in my car the only time it locks is when you slam on your brakes. She gets her legs caught behing the seat belt cause it allows her to move thats why I bought the seat belt thing also
