Meant to ask this the other day. The breeder we got our Boxer pup from reccomends these vitamins. He says that they will help boost their immune system and claims he's seen an overall increase in how long his dogs have lived since he started using them. He gave me a brochure about them with a phone number and told me to use a code that was printed at the bottom of the brochure to get a discount. My gut feeling was that he was getting a kickback from the company for getting people to buy them and the code was how they knew who to sends the kickback to. Anybody have any experience with this?
Yikes - per their web site, their 180-count bottle is only $108. I wouldn't pay that much for vitamins for myself! As to vitamins, I'm kinda like Obama - I'm in favor of taking them and also think it's o.k. if you don't, too. I think there are some benefits for both people and dogs, but I'm not sure you can always prove that. And live longer because of 'em? I doubt that is a major factor. OTOH, I take vitamins and give my dog some (doggie ones) as well. Relatively cheap insurance or expensive urine, depending on how you look at it.
You might look here and save about 60%. I find it interesting that Nu-Vet has only two dosage recommendations, one for under 5lbs. and another for 5 lbs up to 100lbs. . .120lbs. . . or more? Both the ones Leerburg sells and the ones I use have dosages for somewhat narrower weight/size categories.
Yeah, supposedly using this code on the brochure would reduce that to $80 per bottle. I still thought that was alot of money for some vitamins for a dog. I don't spend money on vitamins for myself.
