I am happy to announce that I will be hosting a Wallace Payne Schutzhund Seminar held in beautiful Ocala, Florida. Seminar will cover all three phases of the sport: Tracking, Obedience and Protection.
Wallace is an accomplished trainer and you can read his resume here: http://www.schhcompetition.com/about.htm Not only a high level competitor himself, he has produced many handlers that have made it to the podium. He also knows a good dog when he sees one as he has selected many good dogs including the winner of the 2007 SCH USA Nationals. There is no subsitute for real-life experience and doing it.
The event will be held at the beautiful Ocala Dog Club with huge Pole Barns with ceiling fans, important option here in Florida. This is a super dog sport facility as you can see here: http://www.ocaladogclub.com/our_grounds/index.htm
If you are a serious handler, or just want to get better at Schutzhund Sport, this will be an excellent seminar to get a REAL Schutzhund coach to work with you.
I will be there Art with a few people from my group. I am sure everyone will get something out of it. Him coming to Florida, I cannot see why anyone will miss this.
This baby is heating up, already 10 handlers and room for a few more.
You can learn so much just by showing up and watching it even if you dont have a dog right now or have a puppy, etc. This is not something that comes around every day.
Yes, the tracking fields are all going to be hay fields and cut before the event. There is so much room to track out there it is not even funny. All 3 phases are easily handled at that facility.
You could have any Schutzhund Nationals at that place and it would work out great, really nice set up. I am going to request we have the regionals there!
Hi,
I'm new to the dog sport world much less any seminars. I will be picking up my new GSD puppy next week. He will be approx. 9.5 wks old at the time of the seminar. Would it be ok to take such a small pup? If so how could he benefit, I assume the exercises done are by trained dogs with considerably much more experience?
