I have a pretty good amount of wild caught King Salmon from a trip to Alaska. Was it Pacific Northwest salmon that shouldn't be fed or should this from Alaska be alright?
Salmon is very good for dogs and humans. I don't have the opportunity to feed it lately, since it's about $9.99 a pound at the grocery store! I eat raw salmon all the time (sushi), but it's a certain type and quality of fish.
I was un-aware that dogs should not have raw salmon when I fed it to my dogs before, but I think it is the Pacific Salmon that has a danger, so I would cook it just to be safe.
My Yorkie would not eat Salmon raw, but loved it cooked, so maybe they will like it better, too.
I'm a little confused here, is it just salmon, or other kinds of fish as well? The articles posted above mentioned several types of fish, but it didn't say which types??? (Unless I missed it?)
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Thanks for the safety tips. Best to err on the side of caution as this was caught in south Alaska outside of Sitka. Into the broiler it'll go and I'll yank the bones after cooking.

I'm with you.
Salmonid is a pretty big group, including salmon, trout, steelhead, char, and whitefish.
